Datawheel is a creative studio for the creation of large distribution systems for public data. It has built and/or continue to operate several country scale data visualization systems including Data USA, Data Mexico, and Data Saudi, regional data distribution systems such as CNY Vitals for Central New York and Healthy Communities in North Carolina, and custom data visualization solutions for data on trade, budgets, public investment, and the environment, etc.

Datawheel was founded on June 19, 2013 by César Hidalgo, Alexander Simoes, and David Landry in Cambridge Massachusetts.

It’s portfolio includes exploratory platforms, like the JAIGP, the world’s first journal for AI generated papers, Visual Inbox, a visualization system for email, slack, and calendar data, and LabHQ an LLM integrated suite of paper, people, and grants management system.

HaHu pioneered the digitalization & gamification of Geʽez Abugida writing system, helping Amharic & Tigrigna speakers to master literacy through games, stories, and songs via our mobile application HaHu Scripts. With Bee Educate, HaHu is now scaling this vision globally with an AI-powered platform for niche and endangered languages.
